Castine, Maine - James Michael Day, 83, died peacefully on June 25, 2025, in Bangor. Jim was born June 13, 1942, in South Brewer, the son of Joseph P. and Pauline L. (Singer) Day.

He was raised in Brewer and was one of six siblings. He attended John Bapst High School and graduated from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Jim fell deeply in love with Leila Badaro, his Leila-Lu, and they were married in Washington, D.C., in 1973, and they moved to Castine, Maine, shortly thereafter.

 Jim served in Vietnam, was wounded in combat and was a proud member of the American Legion many times leading the Castine Memorial Day parade from the Common to the Town pier.
