WELCOME TO WHITCOMB-BAKER POST 4633, HAMPDEN, MAINE

Veterans Helping Veterans

As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

OUR MISSION

That the purpose of this Corporation shall be fraternal, patriotic, historical, charitable, and educational: to preserve and strengthen comradeship among its members; to assist worthy comrades; to perpetuate the memory and history of our dead; and to assist their widows and orphans; to maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States of America, and fidelity to its Constitution and laws; to foster true patriotism; to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom, and to preserve and defend the United States from all her enemies.

Honor Flight Maine

Homecoming October 12

Honor Flight Maine will carry out another mission from BGR in just a couple of weeks, and we hope you will join us to provide this group of Maine veterans an incredible homecoming celebration.
The homecoming will take place on Sunday, October 12 at the Maine Army Aviation hangar here at the airport. The access gate for parking for this event will be located near Bangor Public Works on Maine Avenue (signage will be in place to direct you). The gate will open at 10AM, with the plane arriving at 11AM, and the ceremony to take place around noon. Please keep in mind that you are entering a military facility, so all prohibited items must be left at home. All persons and vehicles are subject to search.
This is a family friendly event, and the only cost to attend is a spirit of patriotism and gratitude, so we hope you'll be able to join us as we work with our partners to provide the homecoming many of our veterans were never given when they came home from their tours of service all those years ago.
